During a parliamentary debate on 29 November 2018, MPs from different parties called on the government to confiscate properties from the country’s worst landlords. This comes after revelations about the extent to which tenants are being exploited by rogue landlords in the private rented sector.
 
The Housing Minister, Heather Wheeler, was urged to introduce new powers of seizure as convicted rogue landlords continue to exploit vulnerable tenants due to a gap in the law.
