The Private Rented Sector Access Fund was launched today, 10th October 2018, on World Homeless Day by Communities Secretary, Rt Hon James Brokenshire MP. This £20 million fund will allow councils to set up or expand schemes to help people who are or who are at risk of becoming homeless to secure a tenancy in the private rented sector.

The launch of this new fund ties in with the Homelessness Reduction Act which came into force this month. The Act places on agencies a duty to refer patients, prisoners and job seekers at risk of homelessness to their local housing authority.
