The DWP has informed the RLA about a new telephone system that landlords can use to get straight through to the claimant’s case manager. This can be used when the tenant is happy for the landlord to contact DWP on their behalf and has given explicit consent for them to do so.  Landlords who help their tenants with benefit claims will not have to use the universal credit helpline, avoiding long waits and ensuring more efficient communcation by speaking to the case manager directly.
