The Government has confirmed it is going to ban the use of all combustible cladding on new residential buildings over 18m. New building regulations will be introduced for external wall systems.
The Communities Secretary James Brokenshire announced the decision at the Conservative Party Conference last week. He noted that the ban will apply to all new high rise residential buildings, hospitals, registered care homes and student accommodation.
The new ban will be implemented through changes to building regulations to be brought forward in late autumn.
